Until 2020 no other fuel will achieve such an accelerated average growth in industrialized countries, A yearly growth of 2,1% is estimated. Investments in all of the natural gas field are increasing quickly, from companies to pipelines, converters and Vehicular Natural Gas (VNG) stations.
LPG is commonly known as "kitchen gas" due to its main application as fuel for cooking food, estimated in more than 905 of the Brazilian demand.
Other usual applications are: water heating, barbecue pits, large commercial application in hotels, restaurants, bakeries, schools and hospitals.
The Brazilian Government conducts a social policy of support to the poorest part of the population, subsidizing LPG for domestic use through a tax built in the price of other fuels, especially gasoline. Because of this, LPG has a wide acceptance in the country.
Faced with this expansion and with the increasing concern towards products involved in this field, the major NG distributors such as COMGAS, CEG and Petrobras have been increasingly demanding product quality from its suppliers, and one of such products are metal flexible tubes.
IBEC, a company active in the process of certification of products since 1996, has laboratory accredited by the CGCRE/INMETRO for carrying out tests for metal flexible tubes in accordance to NBR 14177: 1998. Additionally, is able to carrying out tests according to the 2008 edition of the NBR 14177.
Inside its facilities and through partnerships with CGCRE/INMETRO accredited laboratories, IBEC carries out the following tests: Dimensional, Flow rate and Head loss, stanching, curvature of extremities, torsion, shock load, torsional effort, liquid butane immersion, saline mist exposition and aging, all of which required by natural gas distributors for the homologation of metal flexible tubes.
