IBEC received on November 5th, 2002, the CGCRE/INMETRO accreditation in accordance to ABNT NBR ISO/IEC 17025, with the number CRL 0143, for its electromagnetical compatibility laboratory, being the first national laboratory accredited in the radiated emission tests, with a scope of over twenty tests. This is an acknowledgement from the highest metrology department in the country showing that IBEC provides services with the quality standards required by NBR ISO/IEC 17025.
In 2004, it broadened its scope to include safety tests on medical devices, vibration tests, climatic tests and tests for PLG/NG accessories, becoming one of the largest and most diversified accrediting scopes in the country.
Such an accreditation allows IBEC to add exclusive features to its tests, guaranteeing results, traceability, repeatability and reports that are acknowledged in the countries members of the Mutual Acknowledgement Agreement of ILAC – International Laboratory Recognition Arrangement, of EA – European Co-Operation for Accreditation and of IAAC – Interamerican Accreditation Cooperation.
The accreditation also guarantees to the certification departments related to ANATEL, ANVISA and INMETRO a third-party laboratory accredited for tests connected with compulsory equipment certification, making it possible to follow the rules of the Brazilian System of Conformity Assessment.
The laboratory has been considered by ANATEL as being able to carry out the tests necessary for conformity assessment and to issue reports, as prescribed in the current regulations, processes, certification standards and rules. In conformity with ANATEL Resolution 242, we offer certification testing in electromagnetical compatibility, electrical safety and functional telecommunication tests.
Inside the scope of Certification in Legal Metrology, IBEC acts as a third-party laboratory that carries out tests for INMETRO on Radiated RF field immunity test and also vibration / climatic tests in equipments such as electronic scales, speed monitors (traffic radars), alcohol monitors, taximeters and other items.
When it comes to exporting to the United States, the manufacturer must test its products in electromagnetical compatibility tests and obtain a test report that proves that the material to be certified fulfills the technical requirements of FCC. IBEC is evaluated and certified by FCC as capable of carrying out such tests.
